San Francisco, CA – International Training and Exchange, Inc. (Intrax), a leading US-based global cultural exchange organization operating since 1980, has announced the appointment of Dennis Wong as its new Chief Executive Officer, effective January 1, 2022. Wong will succeed Takeshi Yokota, the organization’s co-founder and CEO having served for over 40 years. Yokota will continue to remain active and serve through his Board of Directors position with the company.
"The board and I are confident that Dennis is the right person to lead this next generation of growth," said Yokota. "He is a seasoned leader with expertise in business strategy and technology."
As CEO, Wong is committed to fostering the entrepreneurial spirit Intrax has been known for and guiding the mission in connecting people and cultures by widening horizons and breaking down cultural misconceptions through cultural exchange. Since joining Intrax, Wong has demonstrated a strong commitment to International Exchange Programs and is using his diverse skills to grow and develop Intrax’s wide range of programs. Wong brings over 20 years of leadership and management experience.
"Accepting the role as CEO of Intrax is an honor, and I am inspired by the impact cultural exchange can have on our communities and future generations." Wong further mentions, "I will continue to lead and build upon the legacy both John Wilhelm and Takeshi Yokota have created and to working closely with Marcie Schneider, Intrax’s President, to champion the global exchange community leadership Intrax is known for."
Earlier this past year, Intrax acquired UK-based youth travel company, Invasion and AmeriCamp, as an opportunity to extend its reach and offer unique cultural trips to an expanded base as well as affording opportunities for sustainable and volunteer-based travel across the world.
